“Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain.” Isaiah 40:4
It has been days since this magnificent meditative art work titled “Behold, I Am Making All Things New” based on Isaiah 40:4 by Kelly Kruse was posted on The Advent Project by Biola University Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts.
I can’t get the image out of my mind. Kelly Kruse’s art opens an avenue of meditation. The idea that we are created as perfect, brought low in the valley of humanity which can either break us or remake us into something better, then redeemed by God into something new, was highlighted for me by the light and motion of this triptych.
The separate panels are entitled:
- A beautiful inheritance: the double portion.
- Every valley exalted: covered with the robe of righteousness.
- Crowned with everlasting joy: the garment of praise.
See it for yourself. Read the meditation. Listen to the music. Tell me what you think.
